Douglas Reichardt Obituary

Glassboro, N.J.
Douglas Keith Reichardt, formerly of Glassboro, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2024 with his wife, Joy, by his side. He passed quietly in his sleep after a short battle with Alzheimer's. Doug was 81, born on January 19, 1943. He was a faithful man to the Lord and his family.

Doug was an elder at Trinity Bible Church, Glassboro and worship leader on Sunday evenings. Doug, along with Mervyn Clevenger, initiated the Awana program in 1970. He served as the Commander for almost 20 years. He was an R&D Scientific Glassblower by trade, having worked for Ace Glass and Arco Chemical. He loved roller skating and talking about cars, especially his 1951 Mercury, his first car in high school. He loved to dance and sing, especially to gospel, 50's, and Big Band. He enjoyed vacationing to Ocean City every summer with his family and Disney World multiple times.

He was a loving husband to his first wife, Cheryl Reichardt, until her passing in 2012, having raised his family by her side. He was a loving father to his four children, Christy Mullan (Ed), Debra Berkey (Eric), Scott Reichardt, and Wendy Howarth (Kevin). He was a loving grandfather to his 7 grandchildren, Amber Howarth, Autumn Gruber, Aaron Howarth, Abigail Mullan, Hannah Mullan, Joshua Berkey and Christian Mullan. After Cheryl's passing, he then became a loving husband to Joy Turner and loving stepfather to her children, Tracy Keller and Tricia Spaulding, and grandfather to Taylor and Wesley.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Joy Community Fellowship, 309 Florence Avenue, Pitman, NJ 08071. Visitation is 9:00-11:00 AM. Service at 11:00. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to Foundation Fighting Blindness, PO Box 45740, Baltimore, MD 21297-5740 or The Alzheimer's Association website address: alz.org.
