Gary Gross Obituary

Gary Paul Gross

Jan 27, 1962 - Oct 4, 2023

Lorain

Gary Paul Gross, 61, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023.

He was born Jan. 27, 1962, in Norwalk, and was 1980 graduate of St. Paul High School. Shortly after marrying the love of his life, Linda (nee Savinsky), is when they moved to the Lorain area where they have been for over 30 years. After high school graduation, he pursued his dream of becoming a Pharmacist and went to The Ohio State University. From there is where he earned his Bachelor's degree of Science in Pharmacy in 1985 and then his Master's of Science (Pharmacy Administration) degree in 1988. When he had his degrees in his hand, he started work at various pharmacies, some including Gray Drugstore (currently Rite Aid), CVS, Revco, and Giant Eagle. Most of his career was spent at Discount Drug Mart for over 20 years, with 17 years being at the Amherst location.

Gary was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vermilion. When Gary was not working, you could almost always find him tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. When he wasn't in his garden, he enjoyed working on Jigsaw puzzles, watching the birds, taking drives by the lake, and traveling. He was a sports enthusiast as well, always following and cheering on Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Norwalk St. Paul football team.

Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda S. (nee Savinsky); son, Matt (fiancé, Gabrielle Trexler) Gross; daughter, Rachel Gross; beloved golden retriever, Princeton; siblings, Dan (Julie) of Kettering, Nancy (Jim) Wilson of Plain City, Tricia (Jim) Racher of Upper Arlington, Tom (Ruby) of Norwalk, and Virginia (Jeff) Zimovan of Dublin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Patricia (nee Widman) Gross; and sister, Susan Marie.
