Fred A. Wilson, 84, of Collins, died on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born Jan. 11, 1940, in Fitchville, Ohio, the son of the late Harold and Charlotte (VanHoorebecke) Wilson.

Fred was a life-long resident of Huron County and retired in 1995 from Jennings and Churella. He was a member of New London Eagles and Pine Crest Hunting Preserve, in Hartland Township. Fred was the founding member of the Wednesday night revivals that was at his home. Fred enjoyed all varieties of hunting, fishing, and especially mushroom hunting.

Fred is survived by his wife, Doris (Carey) Wilson, whom he married on March 11, 1963; children, Vickie Biggs, Jeanette Wilson, Diane (Kelvin) Haynes, Rick Wilson, Judy (Pat) Fannin, Brenda Wilson and Barb Fashing; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; one great-great-grandson; siblings, Ella Krisha, Robert (Laura) Wilson, Charlene (Ed) Yates, Thomas (Janet) Wilson, Jeanine St. Clair, Kenneth (Cindy) Wilson.

In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Wilson, Barbara Urich, Rosalie Stefano, and Katherine Wilson.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at Judy and Pat Fannin's residence, 2196 Fitchville River Road, Wakeman, Ohio, 44889. His family will have a private interment at Hartland Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
