Eugene Charles "Gene" Kramer, 77, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at home with family after a long battle with MS.

A life-long resident of the Norwalk/Milan area, Gene graduated from Norwalk St. Paul in 1964 and served six years in U.S. Army National Guard. He is also one of a group of dedicated hardworking young men that earned Norwalk the nickname of "Cradle of Construction." From Tom Hug to purchasing his own milling machine in 1999, Gene was a true road warrior until retiring in 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; two sons, Zach and his wife, Courtney, and their children, Trice, Dade, and June of Berlin Heights, and Nick of Columbus; brotheres, Tony (Lynn) of San Antonio, Texas, Roger (Amy) of Kent, Mike (Linda) of Norwalk, and Jim (Sue) of Norwalk; sister Betty, a sister of Notre Dame, of Jacksonville, Florida; sistersâ€"in-law, Vicki (Adriano) Orrao and Becky Lawrence, both of Norwalk; brother-in-law, Scott Stacey of Andover, Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was a loving husband, proud father, and loving and patient grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jeanne Kramer; and niece, Lena Kramer.

The family would like to thank Stein Hospice for their dedication to their patients and families. They were our sunshine every morning.

There will be no services, but a celebration of Gene's life will be July 4, 2023.
