Etta G. Hamons, 77, residing in Monroeville, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at Metro Health Hospital, Cleveland.

Etta was born May 16, 1945, in Weston, West Virginia, to the late Darius James Gough and Ethel (Duncan) Gough. She grew up in West Virginia before moving to the Norwalk area where she attended school.

Etta was a dedicated employee for ACMI in Norwalk before retiring after 34 years. She was a very faithful and involved member of Maple City Church of God. Etta had various interests and hobbies, but her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Etta is survived by her son, David Hamons Jr. of Monroeville; three grandchildren, Jordan (Allen), Terry (Elizabeth), and Xanth (Lacy); eight great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jace, Levi, Kelsey, Isis, Osiris, Kyra, and Odin; and brother, Darius Junior Gough of Huron.

In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by her husband, David Hamons Sr; daughter, Dianna Meridian; and sister, Shirley Dotson.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022, until the time of funeral at 11 a.m. at Maple City Church of God, 79 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
