Barbara Ortegel Obituary

Barbara Ortegel, 82 of Greenwood, Indiana entered Heaven's Gates on October 16, 2024. Barb was born on April 26, 1942 to the late William and Mary (Grubbs) Sager in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Barb is survived by her son, Sam Cox (Jenny); daughter, Pam Gipson (James); son, John Anthis (Liz); grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Tyler (Caycia), Tanner (Lauren), Sydney, Ella, Addison, Blythe, EJ, Evelyn, Evan, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband Philip Ortegel; son, Paul William (Bill) Perrin and eight siblings, Everett, Donna, Gene, Billy Jo, Dorothy Jerry, Roy and Joann.

Barb's passion was caring for others and doing the Lord's work. She loved spending time with her family; camping, fishing, vacationing and playing bingo. She cherished her time at our family reunions and coordinated many of them. She was a member of Honey Creek Church in Greenwood and tried not to miss Sunday service to spend time with her church family. She loved dogs and had a special bond with each of them she owned including Bonnie, pictured with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 9th at 10 a.m. at Honey Creek Church, 2722 South Honey Creek Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to Honey Creek Church.
