Sandusky
Elaine R. Wright, 87, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Elaine was born August 24, 1937, to Ralph and Dorothy Sparks in Wheelersburg, Ohio. She was a graduate of Wheelersburg High School and married John Wright September 10, 1955. Together, they had six children, John David (Carol) of Sandusky, Jeff (Leah) of Sandusky, Mike (Carrie) of Sandusky, Susan (Danny) of Wheelersburg, Tom (Christine) of Milan, Ohio, and Chris (Brandy) of Sandusky.
Elaine is survived by her six children; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Juanita Fresch; and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, John, August 12, 2022; her parents and grandparents; and John's brothers and sisters.
Elaine truly loved life. She loved spending time surrounded by family and friends, she loved cooking, working on crafts, and traveling with John.
Many remember Elaine playing the piano for songs at congregation meetings at the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Most importantly, through her Christian upbringing by her faithful grandparents, Dallas and Stella Ruth, along with her mother, Dorothy, she came to have a deep love for her Heavenly Father, Jehovah God. August 31, 1951, at the age of 14, she dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized in Little Brush Creek, in Lynn, Kentucky. She spent many faithful decades sharing Bible truths with others, and she and John studied the Bible with their children. Elaine had a strong faith in God's promises for the future, including the earth being restored back to a paradise and the resurrection of the dead to everlasting life.
Elaine loved talking about God's Kingdom and the blessings that it will bring to mankind. She was five years old when she was featured in the 1944 Consolation (Awake!) Magazine as the youngest Kingdom publisher of the Good News in Portsmouth, Ohio. One of her favorite Bible verses to share in the door-to-door ministry was Revelation 21:3,4, the promise that God "will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more."
At Elaine's request, there will be no memorial service. We wish to thank family and friends, along with Western Reserve/Stein Hospice, for their care, comfort, and support; we greatly appreciate it.
Arrangements entrusted to David F. Koch Funeral & Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave, Sandusky.
