Dorothy Louise Brooks

Feb 24, 1928 - Dec 30, 2025

Frankenmuth

Dorothy Louise Brooks lived nearly 98 years (97 years, 10 months, and 6 days) of a blessed existence before being called home to Heaven in the early hours of December 30, 2025. Born February 24, 1928, in Willard, Dorothy grew up as Dorothy Albright, daughter of William John Albright and Gladys Marie (Robinson) Albright. She was the youngest of three, with older brothers Donald and Rolland. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband Theodore, and daughter Ann.

She married Theodore Philip Brooks on December 3, 1948. Ted and Dorothy had six children, Christine (Tom) Ryan, Dean (Terri) Brooks, Daniel (Laura) Brooks, Carolyn (Jerry) Hedge, the late Ann Cannon, and Sharon (Patrick) Brown. She is survived by 17 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Christine's are Erin (Bernard) Elias, Molly and Cole Pergram, and Skyelar, Noah, and Elliot Elias; Tommy Ryan; and Megan (Michael) Finnern: Eileen and Dorothy. Dean's are Jeffrey (Niki) Brooks, Evelynn, Andrew, Vivian, and Charlotte; Kimberly (Joshua) Schaublin: Haley, Landon, and Madison; Kelly (Scott) Wizenread, Olivia and Brooks; and Keith. Daniel's are Renee (Vincent) Thompson, Olivia, Rebecca, Natalie, Jasmine, and Alexander; and Phillip. Carolyn's are Jesse (Daniel) Hohenstein, William, Alexander, and Ethan; Jordan (Colleen) Hedge, Aidan and Logan; and Zachary (Kelley) Hedge, Myles, Lincoln, Bentley, and Layla. Ann's are Sean (Liz) Walker, Arlo; and Ellen (Gustavo) Chavez, Annie and Enzo. Sharon's are Joshua (Mikaela) Brown, Jude and Clementine; Melissa (Jake) Lehman, Clarice, George, and Julia; and Theodore (Rebecca) Brown, Dorthea, Karis, Felicity, and Forest.

Dorothy worked for Norwalk Public Schools while raising her six children and helping Ted run the family farm. In retirement, she worked part-time at P&R Hardware. She had many fond memories with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren alike. She enjoyed crocheting baby sweaters for charity, making comforters at her church, and baking delicious pies. A devout Christian, she was a lifelong member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norwalk, where she volunteered in many capacities.
