Dorothy A. Arbogast, 94, of Republic, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at Elmwood at the Shawhan in Tiffin.
Dorothy was born June 5, 1928, in Tiffin, to the late Carl and Theresa (Beat) Daniel. She married Deacon Urban Arbogast on Oct. 16, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death March 21, 2013.
Dorothy's survivors include 12 daughters, Virginia (David) Robinson of Bellevue, Alice Mugrage of Columbus, Pauline Fey of Willard, Helen (Jim) Lemmermen of Tiffin, Susi Robison of Tiffin, Doris (Bruce) Lambert of Republic, Angela (Dennis) Roush of Tiffin, Janice (Ken) Miller of Bellevue, Patricia Tolbert of Columbus, June (Don) Eveland of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Linda Barger of Tiffin and Betty (James) Bassett of Sylvania; 31 grandchildren, Denise (Mike) Stokes, Anthony Shock, Phillip (Angie) Mugrage, Jason Mugrage, Honey (Brian) Smith, Samantha Fey, Dolly Fey, Jami (Joe) Lundy, Josh (Deb) Lemmermen, Tobey (Ann) Robison, Chris (Darlene) Robison, Melissa (Aaron) Rex, Laura Lambert (Salvador) Navarrete, Matthew Lambert, Sheena Fast, Eric (Jenny) Roush, Aaron (Courtney) Roush, Christa (Kevin) Swanger, Ryan Roush, Brad Miller, Tim (Ashly) Miller, Cory Tolbert, Catrina Tolbert, Jenny (Wes) Morrow, Kendall Conrad, Nicole (Ryan) Mitchell, Chelsea (Brent) Bauer, Amanda (Ben) Remaklus, Theresa Barger, JT Bassett, and Victoria (Levi) Stoll; three brothers, Joe, John, and Paul Daniel, all of Tiffin; two sisters, Margaret King of Toledo and Barb Lemmermen of Galloway; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica where she was active with First Communion, RCIA, and Rosary Altar Society. She was a graduate of Calvert High School and member of American Legion Auxiliary and Scipio Republic Historical Society.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Arbogast; grandson, Michael Sparkman; two brothers, Norman and Vincent Daniel; two sisters, Mary Lou Distel and Germaine Vent; and three sons-in-law, Dave Robison, Stanley Tolbert, and Chris Barger.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica, with the Rev. Joseph P. Joseph officiating. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, Bloomville, and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Seneca Memory Gardens.
