Doris Myers Obituary

Doris Ann Myers

Mar 30, 1935 - Jan 5, 2025

Summertown

Doris Ann Myers (nee Mullins), born in Myra, Kentucky, age 89, of Summertown, Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Southern TN Regional Health System Hospital. She has resided in Summertown since 1981 upon moving to the area from Milan, Ohio. She moved to Ohio from Jenkins, Kentucky, as a young lady. She also resided in Hohenwald, Tennessee, for several years with her husband, Reverend Ralph A. Myers Jr, when he pastored Garrett Baptist Church. She was also a member of Summertown Baptist Church.

Mrs. Myers enjoyed long walks in the woods, watching the many birds visiting her yard full of beautiful flowers, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed various arts and crafts. She cherished serving the Lord and church family. She loved her dear friends, family and extended family near and far staying in touch until dementia made it impossible to communicate her affection and love for them.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Ralph A. Myers; parents, Arthur and Minnie Dell Mullins (nee Elkins); one brother, Thelmer Mullins; one sister, Violet Baker; and her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Myers.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Myers of Summertown, Tennessee, David Myers of Milan and John Myers of Summertown, Tennessee; two daughters, Sandra Conrad (William) of Rutland and Melissa Fischer (William) of Elyria; and one sister, Patricia Shirley of Covington, Georgia. She cherished special relationships with her 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, including Tim Mullins of Summertown, Tennesse and Angela Shirley of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home, followed by a brief funeral service at 2 p.m. Inurnment and a graveside service will follow at Milan Cemetery in Milan, OH, at a later date.
