Donna R. (Calhoun) Leimeister, 74, of Berlin Heights, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 27, 1949, in Montgomery, West Virginia, to Frank and Rose (Parsons) Calhoun.
Donna graduated from Berlin Heights High School in 1967. She was employed at Berlin Milan Local for 38 years where she served many roles, most famously as the Edison Elementary secretary since 1997. Donna was a member of St Peters Catholic Church for 54 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, quilting, 4-wheeling, making pies to share with others, riding her golf cart, attending grandchildren's sporting events, talking her way out of speeding and other traffic tickets, and visiting with friends and family old and new. Donna was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went.
Donna is survived by her husband, Dan, whom she married June 7, 1969; daughters, Shannon Schmidt and Amanda (Mike) Davidson; son, Brett (Courtney) Leimeister; sisters, Debbie Fezzuoglio and Lynette Greenberg; grandchildren, Rick and Gretchen Schmidt, Natalie and Cole Leimeister, and Alex and Mark Davidson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Mason Leimeister; sister, Dianne Calhoun; and brothers, Richard Calhoun and Frank Calhoun Jr.
Visitation for friends will be 12-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. Donna's funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Berlin Heights Memorial Park, Memorial Drive, Berlin Heights, with Chaplain Mel Sayler presiding. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights.
Those wishing to contribute to Donna's memory may do so to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, or Edison School Scholarship in Donna's name.
Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, Berlin Heights, is handling arrangements.

I met Donna when her son Brett and my son Jason had their tonsils out when they were 5. As we sat and talked we realized we had a mutual friend Becky Hillis. We soon all became best friends. We hit all the craft shows together, ate together, sewed and knitted together and laughed a lot! We lost Becky a few years ago, and now I´ve lost my dear friend Donna. I told her I was jealous she would get to see Becky before me. I asked them to be my guardian angels. Donna replied it would take both of them! The worst day of my life was the last day of hers. I will miss you dear friend always

So sad to read about Donna´s passing. She was such a lovely woman who helped so many. She and Charlie worked so well together for the livestock sale at the fair for many years and he really appreciated her. My prayers are with all of the family.

Such a sad loss, for all who knew Donna. She was a special lady, and a dear sister-in-law . I remember the delicious baked goods, the fun and good times spent with her and Dan. My prayers for all the family at this most difficult time. She will be missed and loved forever. Cookie and family
