Donald Lee Stansberry, 75, of Fremont, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born April 10, 1947. in Ballville Twp., to Stacy Charles and Lucille Elsie (Gressman) Stansberry.
Donald served in U.S. Army during Vietnam and was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Rifle Badge. He married Paula Anne Yeager on Dec. 2, 1967, in Monroe, Michigan, and she preceded him in death June 1, 2018.
Donald and his wife Paula owned and operated Stansberry & Associates Income Tax and Accounting Service for many years. He enjoyed bowling, genealogy, and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. Donald was a life-time member of Fremont Eagles.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Shelly (Matt) Wood and Julie (Ron) Gonzalez, both of Clyde; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sandi Stansberry of Tiffin and Vickie (Dan) Ash of Millbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Paula Anne Stansberry; grandson, Derek Keegan; brothers, Chuck Stansberry and Norman Stansberry; and sister, Theresa Scalf.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, Ohio, 43420.
Donald's service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at the funeral home with Chaplain Kevin Lehar officiating.
Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Fremont, with military honors provided by VFW and American Legion.
Memorials can be made in his honor to donor's choice.
