Donald E. "Donnie" Hamilton, 70, of Greenwich, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born June 1, 1952, in New London. He was a Mapleton High School graduate and was a lifelong resident of the New London area. Donnie was a maintenance man at Primetals Tech, New London. He enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales, always looking for the great finds. He spent his time outside fishing and hunting. He had a love of music and musical instruments. Spending time with his family is what he cherished most.
Donnie is survived by his daughter, Loriann (Troy) Green of New London; grandchildren, Mary Frances (Jim) Young of Norwalk, Donald (Dessirae) Finch of New London, Patience (Andrew) Columbus of New London, and Samantha Moore of Castalia; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Kailey, Ari, Rosemary, Raelynn, Sophia, Miles, Aubrey, Andrew James, and Annabelle; and siblings, Libby (Rick) Ives, Bo (Sandy) Hamilton, Dianna Miller, Randolf (Nora) Akers, Danny (Beth) Akers, Donna (Guy) Pierce, Diana (Billy) Squires, Denise (Chad) Conn (and five other siblings).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances (Carroll) Hamilton; parents, Juanita (Parsons) Akers, Albert Hamilton, and Donald Akers; grandmother, Alta Parsons; and siblings, Daphne Hamilton, Albert Hamilton Jr., Nicki Hall, and Larry Akers.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio, 44851. Donnie's funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fitchville Cemetery.
