Diane E. Babcock, 72, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. Catherine's Manor of Fostoria, with her loving husband at her side. She was born July 31, 1953, in Norwalk, to Robert and Florence (Phlieger) Hershiser.

Diane was a 1971 graduate of Norwalk High School. During high school, she was a bookkeeper for Jennings Ready Mix. After she married her husband, David, they moved from Ohio to Germany, Hawaii, and DC, where David was stationed in the U.S. Army. Later in his career, they moved back to Ohio, and Diane began her career at Quality Care Nursing Home in Willard, where she worked as a housekeeper, aide, secretary, and eventually became the assistant administrator. She left Quality Care to work at Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield, where she also served as assistant administrator. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Diane is survived by her husband of 53 years, David Babcock, whom she married May 6, 1972; a son, Joshua (Cynthia Deschamps-Babcock) Babcock from Montreal, Canada; grandchildren, Makayla (Mitch) Bundy of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Madelyn Dawson of Columbus; Leigha Deschamps of Montreal, Canada; and Lillith Deschamps-Babcock of Montreal Canada; great-grandchildren, Paisley Jane, Theodore, and Amelia; sister, Linda Cavello of Centerton; and nephews, Seth and Garret.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Florence Hershiser.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Secor Funeral Home, with Chaplain Tom Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
