Dennis "Denny" Courtland Edwards Sr., 78, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at his home in Nova.
He was born Sept. 14, 1945, in Ashland, the son of Francis Edwards Sr. (Barnesville, March 20, 1912) and Mildred (Plank) Edwards (Ashland, December 26, 1919). Denny attended Ruggles Troy Schools through his sophomore year of high school, completing his high school career at New London High School. After Denny graduated in 1963, he began a career in construction working with Funk Construction, Hubbard Construction, and then starting his own construction business, M.A. Edwards Construction, before retiring from the Carpenters Union in 1998. Additionally, Denny coached the Ruggles Troy Youth League and served for 10 years as Troy Township Trustee.
Denny married Marcia Anna Crabbs on May 9, 1964, in New London. Building a life centered on love and family, Denny and Marcia had three children, Dennis C. Edwards Jr., born Dec. 9, 1964, Brenda L. Reuer, born Feb. 10, 1966, and Jeffery S. Edwards, born Sept. 9, 1970.
He is survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Pat Edwards, Kenny Nichols, Jim Crabbs, and Ann Crabbs, Susan and Harold Paramore, and Dean and Doris Divins; sisters-in-law, Sara Crabbs and Joann Neisner; son, Dennis C. Edwards Jr. (married to Cynthia A. (Young) Edwards); daughter, Brenda L. Reuer (married to James Reuer); grandchildren, Amanda (Jon) Harrison, Nicholas (Jonni) Reuer, Shelby (Jared) Wynn, Aubrey (Matt) Latham, and Faith (Bryce) Lutz; and great-grandchildren, Landon Harrison, Braylon Harrison, Ella Reuer, Corbin Reuer, Grady Reuer, Oakley Wynn, Kade Wynn, Grady Latham, and Lainey Latham.
Denny was preceded in death by brother, Duane Edwards; brother, Francis Edwards; sister, Janice Nichols; sisters-in-law, Jane Gainey and Nancy Edwards; and brothers-in-law Chuckie Crabbs and Carl Crabbs.
Denny will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and community that he has faithfully served. He was a beloved cornerstone of his family who enjoyed every opportunity to help others, attend every sporting event in support of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and play cards. Dennis' love, care, laughter, work ethic, resilience, and huge heart will be carried on by his loved ones.
Visitation for friends and family will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, and 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, until the time of Denny's funeral at 11 a.m., all at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio, 44851.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2291 W. Fourth Street, Suite G, Mansfield, Ohio, 44906.

Denny will be deeply missed by family and friends. He was a caring and kind person. We are sorry for your loss and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We are currently out of state and will not be able to attend calling hours and services.
