Deborah "Kathi" Schlotterer, 71, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family.
Kathi was born Aug. 11, 1951, in San Angelo, Texas, to Alden and Anna (Escue) Kosel. When Kathi was young, the family moved to Ohio. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1969. Kathi was a dedicated employee for Phil Leak Company, where she served as a secretary for 20 years. Kathi was a member of Norwalk First Baptist Church. In her younger years, Kathi enjoyed playing in the Norwalk volleyball league. Kathi was a Beatles fanatic and attended numerous concerts and conventions. Her greatest joy of all was her family. She took great pride in hosting family gatherings, especially the 4th of July and Halloween. Kathi also loved attending the events of her grandchildren.
Kathi is survived by her parents, Alden and Anna (Escue) Kosel of Norwalk; children, Wendy (Jim) Gregory, Misty (Derek) Dupont, and Heather Lucal, all of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and lifelong friends, Sharon Laux and Shirleen McQuerrey.
Kathi was preceded in death by her infant son, Scotty Joseph Schlotterer; and sister, Vickie Swabley.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, until the time of Kathi's celebration of life at 12 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.
Memorial contributions can be made to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44106.

This is sad to hear - Although I haven't seen Kathi since high school, she was always a sweet girl - My heart goes out to her parents.

Kathi and I lived close, and went to school together. She was a great person, and I´m so sorry to hear of her loss! May she be remembered by the family and friends that loved her
