David A. "Dave" Simpson, 76, of Willard, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Embassy of Willard nursing home due to kidney failure.

He was born Feb. 4, 1948, in Willard, to Homer and Beverly (Schmidt) Simpson. Dave proudly served in U.S. Navy from 1967-1971 and was stationed on the USS Columbus. He was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh. He was an avid stamp and cover collector and active member of Willard American Legion where he was a Past Commander. Dave was also the Past Commander of the 5th District.

He is survived by his wife, Sara "Kris" (Kranz) Simpson, whom he married Dec. 23, 1977; children, Brandi (Brian) Brotzki of Bay View and Paul (Stephanie) Simpson of Willard; grandchildren, Lisa Mateo, Olivia "Livy" Cunningham, and Austin Cunningham of Ashland; siblings, Dennis (Joan) Simpson of Willard and Douglas (Felicia) Simpson of Huber Heights; brothers-in-law, Tom Kranz of Shiloh and Ed (Barb) Kranz of Springfield, Ohio; sister-in-law, Beth (Dave) Osher of Bellevue; and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donald Simpson.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at Secor Funeral Home, Willard, and 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, until the time of Dave's service at 11 a.m. at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Shiloh. Pastor Jeremy Lambert will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt Hope Lutheran Church Window fund.
