David P. Roach, 70, of Bellevue, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Promedica Hospital, Toledo.
David was born Nov. 13, 1952, in Bellevue, to Eleanor (Patterson) and Edward Roach.
He was a 1971 graduate of Bellevue High School and retired in 2013 after 42 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad as an engineer.
David was raised as a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Engineers Local â€"BLE. His hobbies included racing his 2010 Camero, boating, and fishing.
He married Beverly D. Dennis on March 20, 1976, and she survives in Bellevue.
David is also survived by their daughter, Kelly Roach of Bellevue; sister, Phyllis Morris of Bellevue; Beverly's siblings, Roger Dennis of North Ridgeville and Jeanne (Stanley) Pugh of Bellevue; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Patricia Overton.
Visitation was 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023, and will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023, at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. David's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Diane Carter officiating. Burial will be at York Chapel Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul UCC or Shriner's Hospital for Children in Cincinnati.

I just found Dave's obituary. I worked with him . I was an engineer also, so I would get to visit with him while we were at the terminals waiting or our trains or when we taxied together. I was a Portsmouth guy, Dave was one of my favorite railroaders. He was a good man. I am sorry for your loss.

Bev and Kelly,
As David passed from the Physical to the Spiritual World, we are blessed to know that he will continue to communicate his love to you and all of us. He has now begun a new journey that we will join as we end our voyages on Earth. David has enhanced all of our lives through his love, humor, joy and memories.
