David L. "Dave" Gede, 76, of Huron, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at his winter home in Tucson, Arizona, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 2, 1947, in Elyria, to Jess and Elsie (Wikel) Gede.
Dave was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Berlin Heights in 1966. In 2015, he moved to Tucson for health reasons, spending spring through fall on his farm in Huron. He was a man of integrity, honesty, and he never met a stranger. He had great determination for life and always worked hard both on his farm and driving truck for over 50 years. His greatest joy was his family.
Dave is survived by his daughter, Patti (Tim) Sebolt; sons, Charles "Chuck" Gede and Anthony "Tony" Gede; daughter, Amanda "Mandy" Gede; son, David "Boo" Gede; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Scott (Loretta) Jones and Tracy (Todd) DeMore, who gave Dave bonus grandchildren; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Elsie Gede.
Visitation for friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Florence Cemetery, State Rt. 113, Berlin Heights.

I spent a lot of time at his house during the summer when I was growing up. I used to ride his horses. He taught me a lot about horses and how to care for them. He will be missed but I know he is now in Heaven with my dad. I bet the two of them are riding horses. My love and prayers for all the family.

Dave was my best friend, and I´m grateful that God gave us time together. I miss our daily talks, but know he´s with Jesus and no longer in pain. My love and prayers are with his family.
