Darlene J. (Laisy) Youngeberg, 94, of Wakeman, passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born June 13, 1929, in Avon, to Alfred and Eilene (Castle) Laisy.
Darlene attended New London High School. She was employed as a floral designer at Puffer's Floral Shop in Oberlin for several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed floral design, bird watching, and especially spending time with her family.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Sandra Youngeberg of Olmsted Falls; son, William (Diane) Youngeberg of Wellington; daughter, Peggy (Tim) Weisenberger of Norwalk; daughter, Lisa (Mike) Fannin of Wakeman; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Jackie (Ed) Johnson; and numerous other relatives.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman "Boss" Youngeberg in 2008; and grandson, Josh Weisenberger in 2021.
Visitation for friends will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, until the time of Darlene's funeral at 1 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. Mel Sayler will preside. Burial will follow at Wakeman Cemetery.
Those wishing to contribute to Darlene's memory may do so to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
