Cynthia S. "Cindy" Farr (nee Stocking), 66, of Amherst, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born Jan. 19, 1957, in New London, where she was raised. Cindy made her home in the Amherst area for over 22 years. She was a graduate of New London High School and EHOVE Joint Vocational School in Avery with the class of 1975.

Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Cindy loved taking care of her family and was a home-school mom for 16 years. She loved baking and owned and operated Cinnamon Cindys for five years. Cindy had a servant's heart and volunteered her time with Abigail Pregnancy Center in Norwalk for 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Birmingham. Cindy enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and baking. She was very skilled at wood carving.

Cindy's survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Howard "Gene" Farr; children, Sarah Farr and Joshua Farr (Laura); grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, and Rebekah; brother, David Stocking; and niece, Melissa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Lillian Stocking (nee Vacsi).

Visitation for friends will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Cindy's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of their choice.
