Curtis E. Capelle, age 73, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Curtis was born Dec. 26, 1950, in Willard, to the late Christian "Curt" and Alma (Milano) Capelle. Curtis proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the John F Kennedy Aircraft Carrier. He was an acting commander of the Willard American Legion, enjoyed playing his guitar and riding his motorcycle or driving his Corvette, and, most of all, going to his grandchildren's events.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marianne L. (Gates) Capelle, whom he married Feb. 18, 1972; daughter Amanda (Keith) Stein of Willard; three grandchildren, Lucas, Landon and Lillian Stein; sisters, Vickie (Alan) Velker of Willard and Jayne (Ron) Craig of Willard; brother, Richard (Cynthia) Capelle of Willard; and three nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, James Capelle; and a nephew, Brian Velker.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of his service at 1 p.m. at Secor Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
