Cheryl James-Gerken Obituary

Cheryl Annette James-Gerken

Sep 28, 1947 - Sep 19, 2024

Berlin Heights

Cheryl Annette James-Gerken (nee Elliott), 76, of Berlin Heights, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 28, 1947, in Manchester, Kentucky, Annette spent the majority of her life in Berlin Heights.

She graduated from Sandusky High School and worked for 23 years at Delphi (New Departure Hyatt) in janitorial services before retiring in 2001.

Annette enjoyed crocheting and cherished spending time with her family, especially her beloved pets, Tucker and Booker; who were her constant companions.

She is survived by her daughter, Telly (Chad) Peters of Berlin Heights; her son, Jason James and his companion Jennie of Littleton, Colorado; her treasured niece, Stefanie Herchler of Vermilion; and her grandchildren, Mason (Kal) Peters, Emily (Parker) Kerby, Maddison, Beau Corbin and Caidynn James; who were her greatest pride and joy.

Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin L. James; her mother and stepfather, Thelma (née Gregory) Elliott Packman and Richard Packman; and her father, Arthur Ray Elliott.

As per Annette's wishes, a private graveside service will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
