Cecil Lewis, 69, of Manchester, Kentucky, passed away suddenly from a heart attack Tuesday, September 23, 2025. He was a devoted father, husband, and friend whose warmth, humor, and gift for storytelling left an impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Alexis and Chip Koch; his son, Jacob (Bailey Sullivan) Lewis; along with their mother and his former wife, Pamela Lewis; and sisters, Beverly and Judy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gladys Lewis and a long list of siblings. Recently, Cecil found companionship again when he became engaged to Chandra Keck.

Born and raised in Clay County, Cecil lived a life shaped by hard work, loyalty, and a deep love of family. A proud "cat dad," he also carried on local tradition as a craftsman and distiller of White Lightning moonshine. His stories, told with both laughter and warmth, were as memorable as the man himself.

Cecil began his career at Sears, where he earned multiple Sears awards as a technician. With determination, he put himself through school to become an apprentice pipe fitter, later working at New Departure and General Motors. Starting on the bearings line, he rose into leadership as a union representative and went on to serve as Trustee of UAW Local 913, where he was a dedicated advocate for his coworkers. He also shared his talents at the Patel family's Sandusky Food and Wine, always bringing the same dedication and pride in his work.

Cecil's legacy is one of devotion to family, pride in his craft, and joy in life's simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Friends may call from 10 a.m until time of funeral service t 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave. Sandusky, Ohio 44870, with Pastor Wally Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at Sandhill Cemetery.
