Carol Anne Marett, 85, passed away with her family by her side Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023.

She worked many years with her husband, Gordon, in the family insurance business in New London, but was mainly a mother to her four children. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and attended all of their various sporting and school events as they grew up. She enjoyed knitting, reading, ceramics, and playing the keyboard. Carol also had a love for her pets and all animals. She loved boating and fishing with her family. Gordon and Carol enjoyed being "Winter Texans" for many years in Port Aransas, Texas.

Carol sang in the choir in the New London, Fitchville and Ashland United Methodist Churches. She served as Lay Director of the Heart of Ohio Emmaus Walk and for nine years, participated in the Grafton Prison Ministry through Fitchville United Methodist Church.

Carol is survived by her children, Mike (Cindy) Marett, Brian (Wendy) Marett, Renee Zelnik, and Kyle (Tracey) Marett; grandchildren, Ryan (Nicole) Marett, Tyler (Amanda) Marett, Corey (Kaitlyn) Marett, Amanda Marett, Jordan Marett, Katie Marett, Abby Marett, Elizabeth Zelnik, and Bre Marett; and great-grandchildren, Nicolette Marett, Emmie Marett, and Adrian Marett.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gordon.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, until the time of Carol's memorial service at 5 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London. Following her memorial service, there will be a meal served at New London Eagles, 29 W. Fir St., New London.
