Carol Sue Berry, 81, of Norwalk, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at Commons of Providence in Sandusky. Born on Sept. 11, 1940, in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Ott and Faye (nee Meade) Blackert. Carol was a graduate of Greenwich High School. She went on to earn a Bachelors Degree from Kent State University and a Masters from Ashland University.

Carol was a third grade teacher at Maplehurst Elementary School for many years. Following retirement, she was active with Retired Teachers Association as well as Delta Kappa Gamma. Carol was also an active member of Norwalk United Methodist Church. Traveling was an important part of Carol's life, whether it was to visit family or to follow her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. She will be remembered for her family gatherings and the wonderful food she would make, especially for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Most of all, Carol cherished her children and grandchildren and the time she spent with them.

Survivors include her children, Michael Berry of Washington, Pennsylvania, Robin (Joseph) Grant of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, Scott (Sharon) Berry of Plain City, and Christopher (Lisa) Berry of Norwalk; and grandchildren, Samuel, Jack, Rachel, Mason (Tonya), Max, and Megan. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, William "Bill" Berry.

Friends and family will be received 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk. A private family burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of life will take place Nov. 25, 2022, at Chris and Lisa's home.
