Carl Stevens Obituary

Carl J. Stevens Sr.

Feb 17, 2024

Willard

Carl J. Stevens Sr., 73, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 20, 1950, to Clarence O. and Germaine G. (Steinmetz) Stevens. Carl was a mechanic and parts manager for various automotive stores in Willard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking trips to Amish country and Michigan to find mushrooms with Ron (Mooseface to Dad) and Pat. He is known for his great sense of humor and story telling. If Dad wasn't teasing you, then he didn't like you. He loved to attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events. His favorite time was the times he spent with his family. Most of all, he was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna F. (Vanderpool) Stevens, whom he married Dec. 7, 1968; children, Carl "Boog" Stevens Jr. (Laura Penwell), Shelley Roberts (William Hochrein), Nikki Stine, Chad (Christie) Stevens, and Ryan (Markell) Stevens, all of Willard; grandchildren, Zach (Caytlyn), Melany, Emily, Hailey, Kaylie, Kendra, Zarian, Xavier, Scott, Max, Jayden, and Jacob; great-grandchild, Ryan (Pawpaw's best buddy); siblings, Robert (Cindy) Stevens of Plymouth, Ruth (Jim) Fetzer of Shelby, and Carol Stevens of New Haven; sister-in-law, Sue Stevens of Willard; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Ronald (Pat) Vanderpool of North Fairfield; and sister-in-law, Linda Robinson of Willard.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Stevens; sister, Janet Stevens; and numerous other family members.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at Secor Funeral Home, Willard, and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, until the time of church services at 6 p.m. at Little Rebecca Church on Henry Road in Plymouth. Carl's funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at the church with Elder Joe Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.

Special thank you to Amber, Brandon, and Sean for the great care you gave Dad.
