Brett Pflieger, 57, of Huron, passed away, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Cleveland MetroHealth after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 24, 1967 in Akron to Donald Alan Pflieger and Sara (Wangler) Samstag.
He was a graduate of Perkins High School. Brett spent 25 years working with his Fazoli's family. He enjoyed many hobbies such as bowling, fishing, pool, darts, and activities with his friends at MRDD. Brett was also an avid collector of baseball cards, die-cast and Matchbox cars, movies, and sports memorabilia. He never met an animal he didn't like.
Brett is survived by his mother, Sara Samstag; stepfather, Clarence Samstag of Huron; stepmother, Judy Pflieger; sisters, Michelle Campbell, of Sandusky, and Leslie (Jonah) Munson, of Denver; brother, Brian Pflieger, of Sandusky; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brett was preceded in death by his father, Donald Pflieger; and brother, Shawn, in infancy.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will occur later at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
Those wishing to contribute to Brett's memory may do so to Humane Society of Erie County or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.

Brett and i had a good friendship i took him to my senior prom he pulled up to get me in his dad;s car his dad and his step mom made us steak on the grill up on there balcony of there apartment which was nice and my other memory no one could ever forget that laugh of his i will miss you my dear friend rest in peace your with god know and you don;t have to no longer be in pain

Brett worked with my daughter and daughter in law over the past 20+ years. He was always smiling and laughing. He always remembered me and greeted me everytimei entered the restaurant. Rest in peace Brett.

Brett, what a special soul. Every time I would see Brett , he always had a warm smile and would reach out his hand when greeting me and others.
