Betty Jane Cady (née Sellinger), 96, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Westerville. Born April 12, 1929, in Norwalk, she lived a long and fulfilling life marked by devotion to her family.

While living in Norwalk, Betty worked at Norwalk Junior High School where she was loved by students, teachers, and administrators. She and her family later moved to Akron, where she enjoyed many years with First Energy (formerly Ohio Edison). Her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her.

Above all else, Betty was most proud of her family. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel special and deeply loved-a sentiment echoed by each of her grandchildren, all of whom fondly claim they were her "favorite." Her warmth and kindness created a legacy that will continue to live on through generations.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Coletta (Teddi) Beck and husband, Daniel Beck; son, Theodore A. Cady; son, Thomas L. Cady and wife, Peggy Cady; daughter, Barbara L. Piening and husband, Jon Piening; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore L. Cady; parents, Donald and Mayme Sellinger; and sisters, Ellen Bartow and Jean Foster.

Visitation will be at noon Saturday, June 28, 2025, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. An interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
