Barbara Ann (Heidl) Smith, 69, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at her residence.
She was born May 28, 1955, in Norwalk, to Robert and Helen Heidl. She was a 1974 graduate of Western Reserve High School and enjoyed working at Fanny Farmers. She was a wonderful babysitter to many over the years and for the past 19 years, organized the Kids Zone at Prairie Peddler as proceeds would benefit American Cancer Society or Piggy Back Foundation in Norwalk.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Joseph A. Smith; children, Joshua L. (Sarah) Smith of Norwalk, Jessica M. (Zack) Schneider of Norwalk, and Bryan J. (Connie) Smith; grandchildren, Noah, Josie, Colton, Brynleigh, and Briella; siblings, Chet Heidl of Georgia, Helen (Dave) Mayle of Pickerington, Sue Bores of Toledo, Marcia (Steve) Rinner of Norwalk, and Bill (Shelly) Heidl of Norwalk; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Bradley C. Smith in 2008.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Barbara's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, at the funeral home with Chaplain Mike Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
