Arthur Evans 89, of Greenwich, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, at University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born May 27, 1933, in Huron County, to the late Katie L. (Miller) and Earl L. Evans. Arthur was married for 61 years to Eloise A. (Ebinger), who preceded him in death in 2015. He previously worked for Fishbaugh Construction, Plastic Molder Supply, Buckingham Equipment, Eitle Machine and Tool, Krystowski Tractor Sales, and Evans Sales and Service. He most recently ran a lawn mowing service. He served with Greenwich Fire Department from 1956-2005 and was Fire Chief from 1983-2005. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. However, spending time with his family and friends was what he enjoyed most.

Arthur is survived by two sons, Mark (Christina) Evans and Michael (Kandee) Evans, both of Greenwich; five grandchildren, Ashley (Seth) Fishbaugh, Brandon (Amber) Evans, Cara (Dalton Blanton) Evans, Cassie (Brandon) Swanson, and Clay (Krystin) Evans; great-grandchildren, Coen and Brecklynn Fishbaugh, Kinsley and Connor Swanson, and Camden and Karsyn Evans; siblings, Clarence "Curly" Evans and Walter (Marlene) Evans; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Copsey and Rose Copsey. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Fred Copsey and Edward Copsey.

A celebration of life gathering will be 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at Greenwich Fire Station, 49 Main Street, Greenwich, where his memorial service will begin at 12 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Watson officiating. Burial will be at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich. Memorial contributions may be made to Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.
