Arnold U. Holmer, 75, of Pleasantville, passed away Saturday afternoon, Aug. 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 9, 1948, in Bellevue, the son of Urban F. and Wilma I. Wagner Holmer.
Arnold was a graduate of Willard High School.
He was a veteran, having served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Arnold entered the service Feb. 12, 1968, in Norwalk. He was honorably discharged to the Army Reserve on Nov. 29, 1969, at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
Arnold was employed as an engineer with AT&T in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He had a strong faith and love of the Lord which directed his daily life. Arnold attended Titusville First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school.
He was a member of Christian Motorcyclists Association. Arnold enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors.
Arnold is survived by his son, John Andrew Holmer and his wife Jeanette of Batavia, Ohio; grandchildren, Kylie and Colton Holmer; three sisters, Linda Rooker of Norwalk, Carol Shephard of Plymouth, and Kim Pottmeyer and husband Jim of Pickerington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ralph "Joe" Holmer.
No public visitation or service will be observed.
The family asks that memorials be made to charity of one's choice that serves to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, a mission Arnold believed to be of the utmost importance.
