Anthony Cummins Obituary

Anthony Charles "Ant" Cummins, 54, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on August 11, 2024. Born on January 5, 1970, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was a spirited and loving man known for his larger-than-life personality and his exceptional skills in everything from barbecuing to bowling.

Anthony worked in various capacities throughout his life, including as a butcher, and a heavy equipment operator at Trane, showcasing his versatility and hands-on skills. He helped his daddy run the family store in Athens for years. He held a CDL license and was recognized by friends and colleagues as a jack of all trades. His hobbies, which included fishing, boating, and riding his motorcycle, were a testament to his love for adventure and the outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Jo Cummins; sister, Gina Cummins; daughter, Skylar Burgess; aunts, Edith Morton and Mary Young; and uncles, Gene Young, Robert Young, Jr. (Judith), and Rocky Young (Della). He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Cummins; brother, Troy Charles Cummins; Grandfathers, "Scoop" H.C. Cummins and Robert Young; Grandmothers, Edith Cummins and Inez "Cricket" Cooper; aunts, Patricia Basler and Ann McKenzie and Carol Young.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on August 20, 2024, at Mt. Olivet, 1008 Delaware, Lexington, KY 40505. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home of Lexington, KY, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anthony's love for life and his ability to excel at anything he put his mind to will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and the best pulled pork this side of Athens will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
