Alice A. Bagley, 97, residing in Milan, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Alice was born July 2, 1926, in Toledo, to Leonard V. and Helen M. (Smith) Fletcher.
Alice graduated from Whitmer High School in Toledo. For most of her working life, she was an antique dealer and appraiser and was the owner of A & F Antiques for almost 40 years. Following her retirement from the antique business, Alice worked for 14 years as a receptionist at Miracle Ear in Sandusky. Alice was a longtime member of Milan Garden Club and the Eastern Stars in Milan. She was incredibly involved in her community and was responsible for the erection of the statue of Thomas Edison with his mother in the park, starting Christmas Tree Lane and also the Queens Contest at Milan Melon Festival. Along with her husband, Franklin, she started the Firelands Antique Fair in Norwalk. Most of all, Alice was extremely family oriented and especially took an avid interest in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Linda Maatta of Milan and Judy (Michael) Fegen of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Chip (Jennifer) McLaren of Milan and Chrissy Gilbert of Norwalk; four great-grandchildren, Devon and Keegan McLaren and Wyatt and Hayden Gilbert; brother, George Fletcher of Toledo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Franklin G. Bagley in 2011; sister, Donna Harms; and brother, David Fletcher.
Alice's graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Milan Cemetery with Pastor Wally Gilbert presiding.
Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory in Milan is assisting family with arrangements.
