Albert B. "Bugs" Meyer Jr.

Albert B. "Bugs" Meyer Jr., 85, of Monroeville, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 18, 2022, at his residence of a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Monroeville, and served in U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Bugs was employed at Norfolk & Southern Railroad for 30 years and prior to that, he was employed for 28 years at the former Faulhaber Company. He owned and operated Meyer Water Hauling since 1975. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post 547, and Bellevue and Norwalk Eagles. Bugs was a hard worker providing for his family, but his most cherished moments were those spent with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myra J. (Scheid) Meyer; daughter, Pat (Roger) Schaffer of New London; son, Tim (Patty Mariani) Meyer of Sandusky; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert B. and Mary (Schroeder) Meyer Sr.; and eight siblings.

Graveside services took place at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville, with Fr. Chris Jesudhason officiating.
